Ancient Sidr trees have grown wild in the mountainous Hadramout region of Yemen's Do'an Valley for centuries. The Sidr tree, also known as Jujube or Christ's Thorn, was an essential component used to complete many of the famous construction projects undertaken by the ancient Egyptians. Sidr Honey vs Manuka Honey: Effectiveness in killing Bacteria
Now this new study from researchers at the University of Ottawa shows honey to be effective in killing bacteria that cause chronic sinusitis. Sidr and Manuka honey were both effective in killing the bacteria. Even bacteria growing in a biofilm, a thin, slimy layer formed by bacteria that affords resistance to antibiotics, were susceptible to honey.
Scientists hope the results can help lead to a new treatment for people with chronic sinusitis.Researchers stated that although both types of honey have great healing powers against the above-mentioned bacteria, Sidr honey is slightly ahead in the race because of its finest quality that is unique in its taste and healing properties. Therefore, Sidr Honey is as much effective as Manuka Honey, preferably even better than Manuka Honey.
What these three Bacterias are?
MSSA (methicillin-susceptibleStaphylococcus aureus)
It is a skin infection that is not resistant to certain antibiotics. MSSA normally presents as pimples, boils, abscesses or infected cuts, but also may cause pneumonia and other serious skin infections.
MRSA (methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureus)
